I'm new to waxing. What should I know?
If you're new to the waxing experience it can all seem a little scary, but don't worry you're in great hands. I've also written an article for everything you need to know about "The Before, During, and After of Waxing". CLICK HERE
What is Sugaring?
Sugaring is an ancient and natural method of hair removal. The sugar paste is simply 3 ingredients; sugar, water, and lemon. The paste seeps down into the hair follicle and wraps around the hair to lift it out by its root. Sugar paste is gentle and more hygienic because the paste is only used once and discarded. Plus, the ingredients used in the paste help to prevent to growth of bacteria.
What should I know about chemical peels?
Chemical peels are a form of exfoliation and penetrate the skins layers to reveal new bright skin. Because of the nature of peels there are some precautions to take.
- Do not use a peel if you are using Retin-A, Accutane, or similar medications. If you are not sure what medications could have side effects please list your medications on your intake form.
- No direct sun exposure after a peel. If you must go out, hats and scarves are recommended. SPF 30 or higher should be worn daily, but UVA/UVB protection is a must for 2 weeks after each treatment.
- No waxing after a peel. The skin is now more susceptible to lifting and scarring, so treat with care.
- No exercising for 24 hours. Heavy perspiration can irritate the skin.
- No makeup. We are putting in a lot of hard work to make your skin glow. Don't undo it my putting makeup onto healing skin.
